One of the 5 P’s of Life is “Personal Relationships” – your relationships with others, including your significant other, parents, other family members and friends. To build and strengthen these relationships, it’s important to dedicate time to them – no matter how busy life becomes for you. Below are personal relationship tips we posted last month on Twitter. Some may apply to you. Some may not apply to you — but may be helpful for a loved one. Please share these tips with those you love.
As your parents age, hire a private geriatric social worker to conduct a complete psychosocial eval.
When arguing with a loved one, make sure you validate his/her feelings – be sincere NOT sarcastic.
For friendships far away, schedule time to catch-up via phone, Skype or Facetime.
Build stronger friendships by taking time to reach out consistently to those you value.
Don’t ditch your friends because your partner/spouse all of sudden wants to do something with you.
